For exceptional bachelor graduates entering ETH's direct doctorate track.

The Department of Computer Science runs a Direct Doctorate program for exceptional undergraduate applicants. Apply through the Direct Doctorate admission system, which lists the current requirements and procedure.

For researchers working in optimization, learning theory, reinforcement learning, or control.

Submit the group application form, or email Prof. He at niao.he@inf.ethz.ch with:

• a brief description of your research interests and work so far, and why you are a good fit for the group
• an up-to-date CV
• the names of two referees

For ETH students looking for a closely supervised research project.

ETH bachelor’s and master’s students are welcome to do a semester project or thesis with the group. Review the current project briefs, then submit the group application form. Students are expected to have a solid mathematical background, preferably with some exposure to optimization and machine learning.
